Baron Empain

douard, Baron Empain , was a wealthy Belgian engineer, entrepreneur, financier and industrialist, as well as an amateur Egyptologist.

Empain was born at Belil, Belgium, and was the son of schoolteacher Franois Julien Empain and his wife Catherine . He went into business with his brother, Baron Franois Empain and other family members, and amassed a great fortune.
